Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us · last updated 2026-05-27
By using The Syncreticon you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable; the legal substance is the same.
1. Who we are
“The Syncreticon” (“we”, “us”) is a UK-based sole-trader business. By “you” we mean the subscriber or visitor using the service. The legal identity of the natural person behind the trading name is available on written request to the contact address below.
2. The service
The Syncreticon provides: a personalised oracle dashboard with eight divinatory streams; a digital library of esoteric publications; reader tools (bookmarks, journal, search); and prose surfaces generated by language models keyed to your subscription tier and natal data. The exact features available depend on your tier; see the plans page for current scope.
3. Account & conduct
- You must be 18 or older to subscribe.
- One subscription = one human. Don't share login credentials.
- Don't scrape the library, redistribute its content, or attempt to bypass tier gates.
- Don't use the service to harass, threaten, or defraud others.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
4. Subscription & billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, in advance. Payments are handled through Stripe's Managed Payments service, under which Stripe acts as the merchant of record (the seller for the transaction) and collects and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax. Your card statement will show
LINK.COM* SYNCRETICON. - The Seeker tier offers a 7-day free trial; cancel any time within the trial and you won't be charged.
- You can change tier or cancel at any time from your account settings.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then.
5. Refunds
We offer a 14-day full refund after any new subscription or upgrade, no questions asked. Email hello@syncreticon.com and we'll process it within 5 working days. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion (we'll usually say yes if you ask).
This is in addition to any statutory right you have under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which we honour fully.
6. Content & intellectual property
The seven original Syncreticon books and all curated/restored publications in the library remain the intellectual property of The Syncreticon or their respective copyright holders (for public-domain works). Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to read these works for your own use.
You retain ownership of your journal entries, bookmarks, and any content you create on the service. You grant us a limited license to store and display it back to you so the service can function.
7. The oracle's prose
The Syncreticon's voice surfaces are generated by a language model. They are intended as reflective material — provocation, framing, meditation — not as medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. The oracle does not substitute for your will. Use your judgment.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is”. We make no warranty that it will always be available, error-free, or that any specific divinatory reading will predict the future accurately. The traditions we curate are presented as historical and cultural material; nothing on the site constitutes a guarantee of outcome.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Termination
You can terminate by deleting your account at any time from your settings (and export your data first). We can terminate for material breach of these terms with reasonable notice (usually email + 7 days). On termination, your tier access ends and your PII is removed per our privacy policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except that consumers resident in the EU retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page and (for paid subscribers) by email, with 30 days' notice before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date is acceptance.
