What this is

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris). The low aromatic herb of the dry hillside, its name tied by the Greeks to thymos, the seat of spirit and courage. Worn by knights for valour, burned to purify, laid where the fairies dance and under the pillow for restful sleep, a small herb of great heart.

What it governs

Thyme answers to Venus and the element of Fire, with a second hand from Mars. Its seat in the zodiac is Libra and Aries, and its day is Friday, when its virtue runs fullest.
