What this is

The sun ringed by stars, set at the head of the twenty-first folio. It is the emblem of glory crowned with destiny, of the great light surrounded by the lesser, and of fortune written across the whole sky. Its verses speak of high success, fame, and a destiny lit by many lights.

Presides over glory, high fortune, destiny, and fame written in the heavens. Folio 21. It rules the great light and the company of lesser lights that attend it.

Its properties

Its colour is brilliant gold scattered with silver-white; its number twenty-one; its sphere the whole lit sky. The quality is splendour, the fortune that rises high and is seen by all, the destiny that gathers others around it. In shadow it is the glory that blinds, the height that forgets the dark it rose from, fame mistaken for worth.

Where else it appears

The same note is the sun crowned by the twelve stars in the great vision; the solar king ringed by his court of lights; the Star and the Sun of the arcana sounded together, hope and glory in one sky; the central fire the old cosmologies set the spheres dancing around. One lit sky, many heavens picturing the same glory.

Where you meet it on the Oracle

It surfaces as the Folio of the Day and as a closing folio, and it is the natural folio for questions of fame, of being remembered, and of a high destiny. When it heads your day, aim for the bright thing and let yourself be seen; the day favours glory earned. In a reading it confirms a yes to high ambition and counsels you to wear the glory without being blinded by it.

Why it matters

It stands twenty-first because the wish to shine and be remembered is woven through ambition, and the Sun and Stars is that wish written across the sky. It asks you to earn the light you stand in and to remember the dark you rose from.
