Domed Temple

What this is

A temple crowned with a dome, set at the head of the twenty-fifth folio. It is the emblem of the sacred made manifest, of the dwelling raised for the holy, and of the order and peace within consecrated walls. Its verses speak of devotion housed, of refuge, and of the matter brought under a higher roof.

Its properties

Its colour is the white and gold of marble and gilt; its number twenty-five, five squared and turned inward; its form the dome that gathers the heavens over the worshipper. The quality is reverence, the order and refuge of a consecrated place. In shadow it is empty form, the temple kept while the spirit has left it, ritual become habit, the dome admired and the holy forgotten.

Where else it appears

The same note is the temple every people raises to house its highest thing, from the domed sanctuary to the smallest shrine; the dome figured as the vault of heaven brought down to earth; the inner temple the mystics say each person carries; the new temple, not made with hands, that the seekers build within. One domed temple, many roofs over the same holy.

Where you meet it on the Oracle

It surfaces as the Folio of the Day and as a closing folio, and it is the natural folio for questions of one's deepest wellbeing, of refuge, and of the sacred in a matter. When it heads your day, bring the matter under a higher roof and act with reverence; the day favours order and quiet over noise. In a reading it counsels you to seek the sanctuary in the matter and to honour what is holy in it.

Why it matters

It stands twenty-fifth because every life needs a consecrated place to return to, and the Domed Temple is the oracle's emblem of that refuge. It asks you to keep the inner temple swept and the holy thing alive within it.
