THE SYNCRETICON WITCHCRAFTE SYSTEM
A Compleat Tome of the Olde Crafte for the Modern Practitioner — setting out the Historie, the Gods and the Goode Neighbours, the Rede and the Lawe, the Altar and the Tools, the Circle and the Eight Great Sabbaths, the Grammarye of the Goode Arte and of the Darker, the Scrying and the Fetch, the Druidick Path and the Celtick Lore, the Tales of the Fayrie-Folke, and the Coven and the Solitary Life. An original work; no passage quoted from its sources; the voice throughout is the Syncreticon’s own.
Voice and Arrangement by the Syncreticon. First publication, Anno 2026.
This is a new book, not a reprint. The tradition from which it is assembled is older than almost anything in writing — the village wise-woman’s knowledge of herbs and charms; the Highland shepherd’s Beltane fire; the Italian streghe and their Aradia; the Welsh bard and the Gaelic druid; the northern hedge-witche and the southern curandera; the medieval cunning-folk who kept the old ways running in the gaps of Christian Europe; the modern revival out of Gardner and Valiente and Sanders and a hundred others since — but the voice, the synthesis, and the arrangement are ours alone.
Every chapter in the book has been read across these traditions, weighed against their rivals, reconciled, and re-set in a single register. Where the old authorities agree, we report their agreement. Where they quarrel, we choose — and say why. Where they are silent, we ask the Crafte itself, and answer from the tradition we serve.
No passage in this volume is quoted directly from its sources. No sentence of Gardner’s, nor Murray’s, nor Leland’s, nor Scot’s, nor Macgregor’s, nor any other, appears as it was written. What is here is the distilled essence of a very long reading, restated.
The shape of this book. Thirteen Books — the coven’s number — and five Appendices.
